We have drywall!

Hard to believe...but drywall has finally started. Five months in and we finally see progress on the interior. Hopefully they will have the upstairs additional complete by next week.

Exterior almost complete!

Stucco is complete. They need to paint the exterior, replace the garage door and install the outdoor lighting. Hopefully they can focus their energy on the interior now!

Exterior Updates - Patio Views

Well, I was getting a little down about the SLOW progress at the house. But, looking at the latest photos, I realize it is coming along...slowly but surely. We are waiting for the stucco to dry before the last layer goes on the 2nd story addition. The brick will be painted to match the existing color. Also our new roof is on!

It's hard to tell from my photos, but our slate roof had seen better days. I guess at 72 - it served the house well. We opted for "fake slate" due to cost. I was pleasantly surprised to see how good it looked once it was installed. Here are a few photos:

Roof is going on this week!

We are finally getting a new roof. For cost reasons, we went with fake slate. I think it looks great so far. From a distance...it doesn't look fake at all. This is a photo I took today on zoom.

Exterior Progress-Back and Side

Not much changed on the exterior while we were gone. It is really taking shape, but big changes are in store this week. The bricks have been delivered and will hopefully go on by Friday.

Here is where we are now. The open hole is our special order door that hasn't arrived. It wasn't planned "special" - just wound up that way when the framed it in 2 inches to short. Joys of construction.

Here is where we started:

This is the current view from the back:

New second story - Master bath and closet + RB's bath. The second story windows are over our tub.

This is before we began the project:

Master Bedroom/Bathroom

Again, quite a bit of progress while we were gone in the master bedroom and bathroom. They removed the old plumbing and cut an opening for the new bathroom door. It looks really different.

RB's bath and bedroom

Progress is being made in R's room. While we were away they added the doorway to his new bathroom. They also removed the old window in his bedroom to make way for one that actually opens properly. It looks really good so far.

This is what it looked like before:

Not much of an update - but it's nice to see progress. More to follow.
