Master Bath

Well, we are making progress on the house. Tile is finally selected for the master bath. We are doing a 6x12 herringbone Calacatta marble floor.

The tub surround and the vanity top will also be Calacatta.

The shower will feature 3x6 Calacatta subway tile on three sides and a decorative Calacatta tile in the middle. The shower floor will be 1x1 Calacatta squares.

This is our accent tile, but it will run vertical. The small squares will be Calacatta as well.
This is the 3x6 subway tile we are using in the shower

Faucets for the master bath. Shower and tub trim will be the same.

The mirrors will look like this in the master above the vanity.

Interior Shots - Before and After Demo

This was the far wall of our master bedroom before demolition. Two tiny closets and one tiny bathroom.

This is what it looks like right now! This will be extra space in our bedroom. The door leading to our new bath will be on the far right.

This is the corner of Robert's room where they are adding a door to his new bath.

Demo has started...but it's just a tiny hole right now.

Framing is almost complete

Sorry I haven't posted an update in awhile. The house is really starting to take shape. The exterior framing is almost complete. The new roof is ordered and we are just waiting for delivery. We opted for "fake" slate. The cost for replacing our entire roof was just...awful. I'm hoping what we selected looks as good on the roof as it did on the board. And, it's doubtful I'll be in this house for another 50 years (life of the "fake") or 100 years (for the real thing).

Interior Demo!

Today they started the demo on the master bath. Window and toilet are gone! Tomorrow they should have the shower and walls knocked out. So exciting to see the progress.

June 15th Progress Report

Happy Friday all! More progress this week at Leland. The huge beams went in today. Over a 1,000 pounds of wood. It's really starting to take shape. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and Father's Day.

Master Bath - Working Ideas

I've been a little worked up about my master bath! So many decisions to make. Here's one that was easy...my dressing table.

There is going to be a short hallway leading from our bedroom to the bathroom in our new space. It will have a 3 ft. dressing table and a linen/laundry closet. We are adding a stacked washer and dryer on the bedroom level - YIPEEE. Not the most glamourous place to have a dressing table, but I'll take it!

This is what my little space will look like with a few minor changes. 1) Sconces will be on the side walls 2) no mirror on the drawer. Everything else is basically the same!

I'm now on to this floor. I'm still sick about my dream floors, but I haven't had a chance to plant a money tree to finance them. I think these are simple and not to girly.

I'm also trying to figure out how to open up a window space between my shower and tub. I like that it's the same size as the windows, but I don't want it to look like a window. I have to figure that part out.

I like the marble around this tub. I'm not sure if I like this as well as the photo above...still working it out in my head. I may wallpaper the walls around the tub since I'm passing on a specialty tile. I just started my search tonight!

It's hard to see the mirrors/sconces in this photo, but this is what I think we are going to do over the vanity. I like the sconces on the mirror.

I reallylike these cabinets and hardware. I'm not sure if I'm doing white cabinets or going with a dark wood. I'm leaning towards white to keep it clean.

RB's Bath Tile Update

These are my latest selections for R's new bath. It will be a carrara hexagon marble on the floor and white subway on the walls. I'm doing a white ceramic baseboard and chair rail. Knowing me...I'll change my mind a few more times before installation!
